  1. What are Personal Data in SAP B1 ?

  2. SAP Business One classifies the following data as “sensitive personal”: • Identification cards issued by authorities • Passport number • Domestic and international bank account numbers of business partners • Employee bank accounts • Social security numbers • User-defined fields

  3. How does SAP Data Protection in SAP B1 Work? SAP works in a way that sensitive personal data is, by default, encrypted in SAP B1 and hidden from the view of all users, and only authorized users can view it. You can open the Sensitive Personal Data Access Log from the SAP Business One main menu by clicking: Administration > Utilities > Data Protection Tools > Sensitive Personal Data Access Log.

  4. Other SAP Data Protection Functionality: SAP Business One's Personal SAP Data Protection is more secure than its Management feature. Users can view or edit personal data based on their authorization settings. The three main settings are: • No Authorization: Encryption-only view mode available for users. No data changes can be made. • Read Only: Data can be viewed in unencrypted form but cannot be changed. • Full Authorization: The user has completed authorization to view and change the data.

  5. How to Change Authorization Settings from the SAP Business One? You can change the authorization settings from the SAP Business One main menu by clicking: Administration > System Initialization > Authorizations > General Authorizations > General > Access to Masked Data.
