Science Labs. in. Action. During the 2003-2004 school year, 55 state-of-the-art science labs have been established in the 31 Title One elementary schools. Some schools house only 1 lab for grade 5 while those with extra space are able to house additional labs for grades 3 and 4.

In addition, each Title One school will receive a mobile, wireless, laptop computer lab for students to access the internet and the various fee-based databases provided through Baltimore County Public Schools.
And finally…… aside from anchoring the microscope cabinets, the addition of these items will not require any permanent physical changes to classrooms being converted to labs.
Milbrook students use the laptop computers to create graphs from the data acquisition equipment.
Fifth grade students at Milbrook Elementary School work in their newly established science lab.
Students at Logan Elementary enjoy science activities at their Grow Lab Mobile Indoor Garden.
Giving children opportunities to experience hands-on activities with sophisticated materials not only enables them to meet with success, but prepares them for the increased demands of future grades.
Increasing the knowledge base and proficiency level of lab teachers… …helps children, empowering them to SOAR to new heights.
