SER vs ESTAR. ¿ Ser o estar ? É sta es la pregunta importante del día . El Verbo SER. the verb ser means “to be” in English (I am, you are, he is, she is, we are, they are ) however, the verb estar also means “to be” SO we have ‘rules’ for when you use each of them.

  2. El Verbo SER • the verb sermeans “to be” in English (I am, you are, he is, she is, we are, they are) • however, the verb estar also means “to be” SO we have ‘rules’ for when you use each of them ¿ser o no ser?

  3. Uses of SER • D = description(physical/personality) • O = occupation • N = nationality [de – of/from] • T = time • P N = predicate nominative (a noun that renames the subject NOT an adj) *to state where something is taking place use ser *

  4. El Verbo SER • the verb seris irregular meaning that it does not use normal ER infinitive endings . . . it must be MEMORIZED soy somos eres sois es son
