  3. Objective: To display the Out-of-office status of a Lotus Notes user on Lotus SameTime Connect. Problem Statement: When an offline SameTime user is required to be contacted, a SameTime alert is set awaiting for response. If the recipient is out-of-office, the status is known to the requestor only through the automated OOO response for any emails sent to him. This restricts the choice of requestor to know the OOO status, wasting time awaiting for alert-response on SameTime.

  4. Solution The solution developed here is to pull the OOO status from Lotus Notes and display it on SameTime so that the requestor can be advertised of OOO status without being required to send an email.
