A number of substances can be used when treating a product such as rubber, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PU) or wax. Examples of waterproof materials include rain-coats, gumboots, particular paints, some iPhone cases , some cameras,

  3. Transparent Materials Transparent objects let light through them. Whether this be from have a clear/see-through property of having holes that allow light to peep through. The reason that we can see through transparent objects is because they transmit light without scattering it. Examples of transparent items include clear plastic cups, glass and even water.

  4. Absorbent Materials Absorbent materials are those that can take in other materials like liquids. These materials are normally used around the house to clean up spills as they have the ability to hold a large amount of liquid depending on the “ply”. Example of absorbent materials include tissues, toilet paper and paper-towel.
