Welcome to Ms. Rivera's class! Students will learn about another culture, ancient civilizations, language arts, and more through hands-on learning and project-based activities. Homework will be assigned and graded, and assessments will make up the majority of students' grades. The goals for the year include building a collaborative learning environment, developing organizational skills, and fostering a love of learning. Donations for the classroom are appreciated. Social Science (Dual Immersion) • Students will learn about ancient civilizations through the curriculum of History Alive The Ancient World • Digital access • Interactive notebooks (in class and digital) • Audio and text • Hands on simulations • Grade level collaboration

Grading • Assessments of learning are worth 90% of students’ overall grade. Assessments of learning might include quizzes, tests, performance tasks or projects, and on-demand writing. Classwork and homework will make up the remaining 10% of students’ overall grade.
