Implementation of the 1993 and 2008 SNA Countries which have implemented 2008 SNA – Aug 2014 Australia, Canada, Ecuador, Israel, Mexico, Peru, Timor-Leste, Ukraine, USA 15% of member states still use 1968 SNA.
Scope of National Account Statistics The scope of accounts is set by UNSC 6 milestones Supplemented by three data sets MRDS Recommended set Desired set of accounts. Data quality not assessed with NAQ

National Accounts Decision 45/104 • The Statistical Commission in its 45th Session endorsed the programme of work of the ISGNA and urged it to address issues emerging from the implementation of the System of National Accounts 2008. • Urged the working group to expedite the development of the handbooks and guidelines and requested that these be available in all working languages. • Recognized that an integrated statistics approach is required to scale up the coordination, the advocacy, and the resources for the implementation of the 2008 SNA. Many developing countries would require significant technical assistance.
National Accounts Decision 45/104 • Requested to harmonize the collection, validation, and dissemination of data collected from countries. It also supported the formation of a “friends of the chair” group to work out modalities for establishing an integrated statistics system. • Confirmed that the scope of a capacity-building programme on integrated statistics and its ramifications for coordination and global governance extends beyond the mandate of the Working Group. • Recognized that countries should take ownership of the required actions for strengthening the statistical production process.
