  4. Aphorisms • Franklin did not create all of these aphorisms, he simply shortened or improved the language of pre-existing aphorisms. • Read- “Poor Richard’s Almanac” p292 in LOL

  5. Assess • What do aphorisms of Poor Richard’s Almanac reveal about the concerns of the 18th century? • Copy 5 of Franklin’s aphorisms; then, in your own words, explain each one. • Choose 3 additional aphorisms. Identify one of the 13 values Franklin promotes in each.
