Property websites have replaced the role played by real estate classified ads. These ads were commonly found in newspapers two decades ago. A property website in India is able to provide better services to its users than a simple classified ad put in a paper decades ago ever could. In addition to the high cost of the ad in a papers classifieds, the person placing the ad had to find way to place the advertisement and this process itself was unfamiliar to many and was also time consuming.

The biggest names in real estate are well known in India, however, the biggest real estate sites in India are less well known and inexperienced users may fall prey to such sites.
