  3. God selected certain men called prophets to write down His words. www.turnbacktogod.com

  4. He chose 40 different men who wrote different parts of the Bible. www.turnbacktogod.com

  5. The time between the first prophet’s writing and the last prophet’s writing was about 1600 years (1500 BC - 100 AD). www.turnbacktogod.com

  6. All but one of these men were Hebrews, and they wrote down God’s words in their own languages –Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. www.turnbacktogod.com

  7. Even though it was written by 40 different men, the Bible is consistent. www.turnbacktogod.com

  8. 2 Timothy 3:16 - “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: www.turnbacktogod.com

  9. 2 Peter 1:21 - “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” www.turnbacktogod.com

  10. The Bible is a big book containing 66 smaller books, with 2 major divisions www.turnbacktogod.com

  13. The Bible is like a library of books rather than a single novel. www.turnbacktogod.com

  14. There are different types of writing in the Bible; for instance, poetry, history, and letter. The style of the book makes a difference in the way you read the book. www.turnbacktogod.com

  16. Verse 1 God is eternal (He was already there); the world is not eternal. www.turnbacktogod.com

  17. God is supreme (above all things) and sovereign. www.turnbacktogod.com

  18. God is perfectly intelligent enough to have made the world. www.turnbacktogod.com

  19. God is perfectly powerful enough to have made everything all at once. www.turnbacktogod.com

  20. God is completely independent of everything and everyone.(He existed without creation before He made it.) www.turnbacktogod.com

  21. Verse 2 God is spirit (invisible, can’t be seen). www.turnbacktogod.com

  22. God is present everywhere. www.turnbacktogod.com

  23. Verse 3 God created the world simply by speaking. www.turnbacktogod.com

  24. It began by the power of His Word; everything began this way. www.turnbacktogod.com

  25. Verse 1 If you saw a painting in my home, you would ask me “Who made this painting?” not “What made this painting?” www.turnbacktogod.com

  26. In other words, creativity demands personality; God created the world, therefore, He is personal or has personality. www.turnbacktogod.com

  27. Covenants Another name for a covenant is a testament. www.turnbacktogod.com

  28. What is a covenant? Covenant - a strong agreement between two people wanting to form a relationship. www.turnbacktogod.com

  29. God wanted to form relationship with man. The being that created all things wanted to know personally one of the things He created. www.turnbacktogod.com

  30. This demonstrates the personal side of God. Even the divisions of the Bible show that God has desired relationship from the beginning. Old Testament/Covenant and the New Testament/Covenant. www.turnbacktogod.com
