  2. Grub??? • Grub is just the British informal way of saying ‘food’ “I hope my Mum makes goodgrubfor breakfast” “This grub is delicious!” “What types of grub do you like to eat?”

  3. Discover new food • Your Mom’s food is getting a little old and you want something new! • Because we are studying England, you must travel there and discover different types of food.

  4. Your duties • Break off into groups of 4 and decide who will get these roles: • 1 person is a breakfast connoisseur • 1 person is a lunch connoisseur • 1 person is a dinner connoisseur • 1 person is a supper (dessert) connoisseur Search the web and answer these questions!

Questions • What are bangers and mash? • What types of food were eaten in England during the Roman Times? • Do any other cultures have an influence on British food? • How many meals a day is normal? • Give me 4 examples of British foods that you would not eat? • What types of cultures have influenced British food and give an example

  7. Combine it! • After all of the questions are answered each connoisseur will pick one recipe from their meal and combine them to make a group cookbook! • Each group will present their cookbook to the class and share what they like about the food they picked!

  8. CONGRATULATIONS! • You are all now official British grub experts! • We’ll print copies of your cookbooks for each of you to bring home to your parents. Maybe they’ll even help you make something from it! • Enjoy 

  9. Afterwards • Go to your local British cuisine restaurant • Help your parents make the food its self • Watch the food network channel • Search the web for more recipes • Create your own recipe using popular English foods
