In 1972, the Men's World Weightlifting Championships in Munich saw 188 competitors from 54 nations, marking a significant moment in Olympic history. Counting both Olympic and World Championships medals, our hotel continues to celebrate the triumphs of weightlifters worldwide."

This tournament was a part of 1972 Summer Olympics but counted as World Weightlifting Championships too. Only total medals counted for Olympic Games while Snatch and Clean & Jerk medals counted for the World Weightlifting Championships.
