  1. A Journey to the Soul of Nepal - Mukthinath Yatra Muktinath Yatra is a holy pilgrimage for people that takes place at the base of the Thorong La mountain pass in Nepal. The temple is in the Mustang district of Nepal, which is 3,710m above sea level. People believe that Lord Vishnu lives in Muktinath, which makes it one of the most important pilgrimage sites. There are two levels to the temple. The shrine on the lower tier is for Lord Vishnu, and the shrine on the upper tier is for Lord Shiva. Mukti Kunda is the name of a spring that is part of the temple. Pilgrims take a bath in this water to cleanse their souls and ask the gods to bless them. Starting in Kathmandu, the Yatra goes through the Annapurna Conservation Area. You can walk to Muktinath or take a jeep. On the way, you can stop at the Manakamana temple, the Bhimsen temple, and the Gosaikunda temple. Most of the time, the Yatra takes four days. At night, the temperature can drop by a lot, so it's important to bring warm clothes. Pilgrims also need to look after their health. Pilgrims can get to Muktinath by helicopter from Pokhara. The Nepal Mukthinath Yatra usually starts with a trip to the Kaligandaki River, followed by a trip to the Muktinath shrines. One can do the Yatra based on how they believe. After that, pilgrims go to nearby temples like Gosaikunda, Bhimsen, Manakamana, and so on. After pilgrims finish the Yatra, they can take a bath in the holy waters of Mukti Kunda and ask the gods for their blessings. People believe that Mukti Kunda has the power to heal the soul and cure any kind of illness. At the end of the Yatra, pilgrims can fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu by helicopter. It is best to plan your Yatra and buy your tickets well ahead of time.
