Placement • An adjective is usually placed immediately before a noun. Examples: angry people stale sandwiches ill child
Some adjectives, however, can only be used after a verb and never before a noun. Examples: The boy was asleep on the sofa. ✔ The asleep boy was on the sofa. ✗ • Adjectives can also be placed at the end of a sentence instead of before a noun. Example: She played the violin beautifully.
