We’re at War! • Many references in scripture to us being in a battle or war • Don’t be surprised to find opposition • Eph 6v12 - For our struggle... • 2Cor 10v3 - we do not wage war as the world.. • 1 Pet 5v8 -The devil seeks to destroy us • 1 Pet 2v12 - sinful desires , which war against your soul

  3. Enemy = devil – accuser, liar and thief • Does not fight fair – he is scheming • No good days! BUT... • Jesus has won the victory • There is no neutrality • We have to play our part

  4. Who/what are we fighting? • Our struggle is not against flesh and blood • Attacks from the world • In our minds • Attacks from demonic forces directly

  5. How do we fight him? • Be strong in the Lord - Eph 6v10 • Put on the full armour of God to stand • Belt of truth • Breastplate of righteousness • Shoes of the gospel of peace • Shield of faith • Helmet of salvation • Sword of the Spirit

  6. How do we fight him? • Submit to God/Obedience • Resist the devil • Take every thought captive • Worship • Walk in Love. Rom 12v17-21 • Walk in peace • Walk in the Spirit • Pray

  7. Summary We are in a battle and: • Need to stand/be defensive • Taking new territory/holding it • So go and expand the kingdom, and make disciples
