THE CAVE DRIVEN BY SILICON GRAPHICS SUPERCOMPUTER
THE CAVE ACTIVE STEREO PROJECTION 96 to 120 frames per second are created by the supercomputer, half drawn from each of the left and right eye’s perspective. Called “frame-sequential active stereo” because the images appear in left eye/right eye order more rapidly than the human visual cortex can discretely view the images due to liquid crystal electronic (hence active) shutter glasses.
