  3. Supporting Entrepreneurship in Ecovillages • Step 1: Incorporate green entrepreneurship within ecovillage values • Step 2: Support entrepreneurship in ecovillages • Step 3: Using ecovillage businesses to influence the public and guide potential transitions within wider society

  4. Ecovillage Road (www.ecovillageroad.eu) • A platform where ecovillages can offer their goods and services to the public • Income and publicity for ecovillages • Giving the public greater knowledge and access to ecovillages

  5. Evaluation • Ecovillage Road has achieved: • Fully working homepage, with low maintenance • Representative projects from all the partner countries • Included in Eurotopia • Prospects of post-project continuation through the Baltic Eecovillage Network (BEN)

  6. Evaluation • The Ecovillage Road has not yet achieved: • Enough projects and activity on the site • Conclusions: • Too few ecovillages currently rely on on-site income generating activities (business).

Ecovillage Road Handbook  ”The Enterprising Ecovillager” • 60-75 page handbook of why and how to start businesses in ecovillages • Businesses in ecovillages are necessary for ecovillage development • Ecovillages have the conditions to develop the green business models of the future • Gives a broad view of what to keep in mind for the ecovillage entrepreneur • Provides examples of successful ecovillage businesses • One chapter dedicated to Ecovillage Road

The ECOVILLAGES Project Outcomes • Better awareness and knowledge of the situation in the Baltic Sea Region • Two great tools for boosting entrepreneurship in ecovillages through Ecovillage Road and ”The Enterprising Ecovillager” handbook • An organisation representing the ecovillage movement in the Baltic Sea Region: BEN
