  1. NEW Stroke Swallow Screen Orders • These NEW subphases are found on the following PowerPlans: • Admission Ischemic Stroke/TIA • Admission Hemorrhagic Stroke effective 9/18 Did the patient pass the swallow assessment? • Nursing Swallow Assessment results are found on these tabs: • Flowsheet • Health History • ED View • Results Review No Yes Select Subphase-Swallow Screen Passed to order a diet. Select Subphase-Swallow Screen Failed to order NPO. Select the appropriate diet and return to the Admission phase. The patient will be NPO until evaluated by Speech Therapy. Select Return to Admission. Over for Post-tPA orders

  2. POST-tPA for Ischemic Stroke Swallow Screen Orders Patients receiving tPA will be strict NPO for at least 24 hours after tPA administration. Over for non-tPA orders
