What Is This Jesus All About? • Background: Mark 1:14-15 • “The time is fulfilled…” • The Kingdom of God is finally here! • Unleashed by power, miracles, revelation from God • Implication on others: 1:16-17 • “Follow ME” • A bold claim of authority! • This is not an academic study. • This is Discipleship: developing a relationship with Christ. • People dropped everything to follow Christ! • What motivated these men to follow?

What motivated these men to follow? • Notice the timeframe – 1:14 • Mark omits the “yearof obscurity” • What’s Missing? • The passing of John the Baptist (Jn.1:35-40) • Andrew: knew the Old Testament witness • Spent time talking with Christ. • Peter (Jn.1:41-42): Andrew was his brother • Discovered the life-changing impact of Christ! W A R N I N G ! Knowing Christ may change your life forever!

What motivated these men to follow? • Notice the timeframe – 1:14 • Mark omits the “yearof obscurity” • What’s Missing? • The passing of John the Baptist (Jn.1:35-40) • Andrew: knew the Old Testament witness • Spent time talking with Christ. • Peter (Jn.1:41-42): Andrew was his brother • Discovered the life-changing impact of Christ! • A decisive moment (Lk.5:1-11) • They had some evidence that Jesus was the Christ. Conclusion: They didn’t know everything about Christ, but they knew enough about Him to make a decision to follow Him at a deeper level. Do you want 'some' evidence?

What Is This Jesus All About? • Look at His Kingdom-builders… • Not the “Great Ones”. • That is because: Christ is our adequacy • See 2 Corinthians 3:4-6. • What boundless opportunities this brings!! • Do you look beyond the “inadequacies” ? • Who is available today? • Not asked to change first. • It must start with a relationship.

What Is This Jesus All About? • Look at His Kingdom-builders… • He might change your plans! • From being “fishermen” to “fishers-of-men” • A Change of Purpose! • There is a King in town! • With A Kingdom Plan (Mt.28; 2 Tim.2:2) • Calls you to a purpose-driven life! • What are you fishing for? • He Wants to Replace Our Small Time Worlds… • Meet Jeff Gordon…
