DEFINITION Adolescent – 10- 19 yrs Youth- 15-24 yrs Young people- 10-24 yrs
WORLD - Nearly 1/5th of total population INDIA- 22.8% of total population Approximately of 230 million adolescents Sex ratio of adolescent girls in 13-19 years age 897 in 1981 to 884 in 1991.
