Biography of Journalist • Family- In 1995, he married Janine Sabino. They are currently happily married. He currently lives in Detroit Michigan. • Hometown- Mitch was born in Passaic, New Jersey, May 23 1958. • Education- Mitch Albom went to Brandies University in Waltham, Massachusetts to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Pursuing his dream to become a musician, he worked after graduation for several years in nightclubs in the US and Europe. He discovered an aptitude for writing and eventually returned to graduate school, earning a Master's degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, followed by an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
Biography continued • Timeline of their work- 1985:Wins Associated Press Award for Best Sports News Story. • 1989: Establishes the Dream Fund in Detroit. • 1997: His book “Tuesdays With Morrie” is Published. • 1999: Named National Hospice Organization's Man of the Year. • 1999: “Morrie: The Movie” • 2000-Present: Mitch has been writing articles and many more books. He is writing articles for the Detroit Free Press. • What kind of journalist are they classified as (sports, satirist, political, entertainment, etc.)- Mitch Albom writes Non-Fiction and Young adult-fiction books. I would consider him as a philosophical literature writer.
Accomplishments • What awards have they received- He won four Emmy Awards, is an American best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, dramatist, radio and television broadcaster and musician. He has sold over 30 million books over the time period of his career.
Organizations/Causes/Philanthropy • He founded "The Dream Fund” in 1989, it provides scholarships for disadvantaged children to study the arts. • He contributes a lot of money to his organization regularly.
Examples of work • He published the book “Bo: Life, Laughs, and the Lessons of a College Football Legend” wrote about the former University of Michigan head football coach. He also wrote “Tuesdays with Morrie”, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven”, “For One More Day”, and “Have a Little Faith”. “Bo: Life, Laughs, and the Lessons of a College Football Legend” and “Tuesdays with Morrie” are both completely true stories.
Examples continued • Mitch has been on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson and is developing his own television show that will be appearing on TNT next fall. • Mitch Albom has a wide variety of books ranging from sports books to newspaper articles to non-fictional books and informational books. His range of genres makes him a strong writer and gives him many journalistic skills.

Examples continued • To give people a better idea of what they are reading and it would give them more of a physical description letting them imagine everything in their own head. • I could also include my personal life experiences in my writings just as he does giving them a better idea of how serious or not serious the situation is.
