Types of Korean Double eyelid surgery There are prominently three types of eyelid surgery depending on the incision type. These include – 1.Full incisional method – it is the most common method as it imparts the most natural look. 2.Buried sutured method – this is a noninvasive and non-incision method and one of the oldest procedure. 3.Partial incision method – as the name suggests it involves partial incision of the incision resulting into lesser scar marks.
Things you should know: Double eyelid surgery does not require any hospitalization. You can have it done at your doctor’s chamber and then leave after a couple of hours. There are several methods for Korean double eyelid surgery. Depending on the one you choose, doctor will have your stitch removed in 5-7 days. If you are an out stationed candidate who have travelled to Korea for a double eyelid surgery you would be advised to stay in Korea until your stitches are removed. Speak to your doctor and understand the pros and cons to make an informed decision. Korean double eyelid surgery is usually carried out under sedation and local anaesthesia. This means, you will sleep for a while and then you will awake throughout your procedure. However, you won’t feel any pain during the procedure as you will be under anaesthesia. The entire procedure will not take more than an hour. Although you will not be hospitalized but that doesn’t mean you can continue going to work or have normal routine. You will need to be at rest for 2-3 days.
Recovery is usually fast. All the scars and bruises usually disappear within 2 – 4 weeks. However, the recovery process depends on the type of surgery and the thickness of the skin around the eyes.
