ASSESSMENT • Courses at National 1 to National 4: • courses are made up of Units • all units have assessments which must be passed to gain a pass for that Unit. • courses are internally assessed with no final examination/external assessment (but assessments are externally verified) • courses at National 4 Level include an Added Value Unit • Courses at National 5 and above • include an external assessment
ASSESSMENT At Advanced Higher levels, even where there is an external assessment, a Course Award can only be achieved where all of the Unit Assessments and, where there is one, any External Assessment, have been passed.

THE OPTIONS FORM 1. Columns 1 to 5 Choose one subject from each column List these in order of preference on the form Indicate the level recommended in your report and the column the course is in.
