Distinguished Graduates 1. ACTVITIES: Participate for at least one semester in at least one extra-curricular activity in the school which has an end product. Examples of activities may include sports, theater production, pep squad, band, ASB, art/photo exhibit, newspaper, yearbook. (Involvement in a campus club ONLY fulfills this requirement if you have a minimum of 40 hours of participation in the club. These 40 hours would be in ADDITION to, NOT part of, your 100 “Service” hours) 2. ATTENDANCE: Have exemplary attendance for all four years. Prospective distinguished grads are required to check their attendance records to be sure that absences and tardies are not excessive. A STUDENT WHO HAS VERIFIED TRUANCIES AND/OR UNRESOLVED ABSENCES WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE DISTINGUISHED GRAD PROGRAM UNLESS THEY ARE RESOLVED. 3. CITIZENSHIP: Maintain exemplary citizenship each semester in each class, INCLUDING no 5’s,no more than one 4 in citizenship, and no suspensions or expulsions. 4. COURSE WORK: Complete all classes required for entrance into the California State University or the University of California schools, meeting “A-G” requirements with a grade of “C” or better. 5. GRADES: Maintain a cumulative State Weighted GPA of 3.0+ 6. SERVICE: Perform at least 100 hours of school or extra-curricular community service which is defined as voluntary service performed for a non-profit community or school organization and without any form of payment to the volunteer. Submit BLUE verification forms (available in the guidance office) as hours are completed. Verification must be submitted before 3:30 p.m. on the last day of the third quarter of the senior year. • Students completing this four-year program will receive recognition at Academic Awards Ceremony and at the graduation ceremony. Students will receive the Distinguished Grad Medallion, the Distinguished Grad Notation on their transcript, and the Distinguished Grad Seal on their diploma. • Note: All service hours are due before 3:30 pm on the last day of the 3rd quarter of your senior year! No exceptions!
