  2. Mycoplasma is bacterial which can be referred to by more than 200 species of tiny bacteria. It can invade the culture of a cell and can be unrecognized sometimes. That is why you need to perform a test for mycoplasma detection,which is performed on the cell line. • If the cell is infected by mycoplasma, there can be several consequences, such as changes in the growth rate, gene expression, viability, metabolism, and morphology. • But how will you be able to detect the mycoplasma in the cell wall?   3. DNA detection • The first method to detect mycoplasma is the DNA method which makes take several days. It is because, in this, you will have to grow the sample of the suspected cell cultures. After that, you can use the fluorescent dye because mycoplasmas cells will appear on that. • It is a reliablemethod that you can use, which will help detect mycoplasma. However, it may not be detected by the gold-standard culture method.

  4. PCR method • Another method for detection is the PCR method which is the quickest and least sensitive method you can choose. • You can perform the PCR method where you can suspect the cell cultures with the help of specificmycoplasma DNA. It is the method that will help in detecting the mycoplasma species.
