  1. Major sex icon since the 50s. Actress, singer, playboy, model, movie star. Influence to millions. Stars today like Marilyn Manson, Lady Gaga, and Mariah Carey are highly influenced by her. Unexpectedly, her stardom was influenced by neglect and abandonment. Norma Jean Mortenson was born June 1, 1926 to a mentally ill mother and an unknown father. She jumped from orphanage to orphanage in L.A. and other parts of California. She married Jim Dougherty at 16 on June 19, 1942 to get out of the foster care system. Marilyn Monroe JaidynGutsason

  2. She often had affairs with married men while married. Substance abuse was a big problem in her life, she died due to an overdose. Marilyn had around 12 abortions which caused her endometriosis. Monroe has 3 marriages between 1942 and 1961. Her accomplishments include being on the first ever issue of Playboy, her first movie was All About Eve in 1950, she starred in the most iconic film scene of all time, and starred in the #1 rated comedy of all time.

  3. Her marriage to Jim Dougherty was to get out of foster care. The dress she wore in the Seven Year Itch auctioned off for 5.6 million. There’s a statue in Palm Springs, California by Seward Johnson that’s 26 feet tall and made of 34,000 pounds of stainless steal and aluminum.
