1. LOCAL LITTLE LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES The Board of Directors sets policy for the league.
2. PRESIDENT Assumes full responsibility for the operation of the league.
Conducts the affairs of the local league.
Executes policies established by the BOD.
Presides at all league meetings.
Main contact between local organization, District & Little League International.
Briefs all league personnel on Little League principles, policies, rules & regulations.
3. PRESIDENT (CONTINUED) Ensures that the league is operating within the confines of Little League principles, policies, rules & regulations.
Appoints (with the approval of the BOD) all managers, coaches and umpires.
Investigates complaints, irregularities & conditions detrimental to the league.
Reports findings to the BOD as warranted.
4. PRESIDENT (CONTINUED) Must perform a background check on all officers & volunteers that repetitively come in contact with the players. Note: All volunteers must submit a completed Little League Volunteer Application along with a government issued I.D. prior to coming in contact with any child in the program.
Prepares & presents condition of the league report at the annual meeting.
Prepares and submits an annual budget to the BOD.
5. PRESIDENT (CONTINUED) Examine player applications and supporting proof-of-age documentation of every player candidate and certify the residence and age eligibility before the player may be accepted for tryouts or selection to a team.
6. PRESIDENT (CONTINUED) Schedules all practices and games.
Submit full tournament team packet to the District Administrator for approval.
Appoint an independent auditing committee at end of fiscal year.
7. VICE PRESIDENT Performs the duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President, provided he or she is authorized by the President or BOD to so act.
Works with other officers and committee members.
Ex-officio member of all committees.
Carries out duties and assignments as may be delegated by the President.
8. SECRETARY Maintains a registry (list) of all member classes, Directors & committee members.
Records all meeting minutes.
Sends out all meeting notices.
Issues membership cards (if applicable).
Maintains a record of all league activities.
9. TREASURER Receive all monies & securities, and deposit same in a depository approved by the BOD.
Signs all checks. Note: Must be co-signed by another officer or director.
Dispenses league funds as approved by the Board of Directors.
Provides regular reports on status of league funds.
10. TREASURER (continued) Keeps local league books and records on all financial dealings.
Prepares annual budget as directed by the President.
Assumes responsibility for (all) local league finances.
Prepares and submits an annual financial report as directed by the President to the Membership, BOD & Little League.
11. PLAYER AGENT Advocate of the players.
Must be concise and neutral in the application of rules & regulations.
Maintains an accurate record of player transactions.
Conducts annual tryouts.
In charge of player selections (draft).
Assists President in verifying birth records and residency eligibility of all players.
12. PLAYER AGENT (continued) Serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
Supervises & coordinates the transfer of players.
Prepares team rosters for the President’s signature & submission to Little League Headquarters.
Notifies Little League Headquarters of any roster changes.
13. PLAYER AGENT (continued) Prepares tournament team eligibility affidavits & required support information for the President’s signature & submission to the local league Board of Directors.
Monitors mandatory play & pitching requirements.
Investigates & presents player issues to the Board of Directors.
14. SAFETY OFFICER Coordinates all safety activities.
Insures safety in player training.
Ensures safe playing conditions.
Monitors game safety compliance.
Coordinates reporting of injuries.
15. SAFETY OFFICER (continued) Responsible to insure that the league has an up to date safety plan.
Reports safety issues to the Board of Directors.
16. LEAGUE INFORMATION OFFICER Sets up and manages league’s official web-site.
Sets up online registration.
Ensures that league rosters are downloaded to Little League International.
17. LEAGUE INFORMATION OFFICER (continued) Assigns online administrative rights.
Responsible for posting all pertinent league information on the web-site.
