Agricultural Research Service Types of patented technologies from Midwest Area laboratories Crops - enhanced biomass, biofuel or nutritional (human or animal) properties, disease or insect resistance Biofuels - enhanced microbes and processes and for conversion of waste streams Biobased building blocks – microbial production Chemical building blocks - environmentally friendly processes for synthesis from biobased materials New chemicals, polymers, etc. and processes for synthesis Livestock - Diagnostics for animal diseases and food safety, vaccines or biologicals, nutrition Nutrition - probiotics, fat replacement, sweeteners, phytonutrients, crops with enhanced nutrient/health, food ingredients and processes Microbials/formulations for control of plant diseases or insects (see back for recent examples from one ARS Midwest Area lab)
