Settings • Common juxtaposition of the Victorian era (often England) or American West with technology beyond its time • Sometimes the stories are futuristic with a return to steam technology • Occasionally a fantasy setting is used with steam technology
Martin Scorsese’s 2011 movie Hugo (based on the novel by Brian Selznick) is a popular example of Steampunk.
