Impact of OTC Statins on the Biometric Testing Industry The biometric industry may need to respond to the launch of OTC statins with the following strategies: • Develop professional staff to support retailers who may be interested in outsourcing their screening services • Develop to develop field-based consultative services for those retailers who are interested in screening themselves in partnership with organizations that will train pharmacists • Link education about OTC statins to screening programs performed in other venues e.g. Employers • Develop health educational resources, with OTC statin companies, to distribute during counseling to insure appropriate consumers consider OTC statin utilization.
