  1. About Xperdyte • Xperdyte, the software solution tailor-made for the South African Manufacturer. This comprehensive solution addresses all the critical issues in the production process. • Allowing you to set multi-level Bill of Material (BOM)recipes which sets the standards against which Works Orders are measured. • The systematic Works Order Routingstructure allows for the effective co-ordination of production tasks. • The full Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Module reduces stock-outs and ensures that materials are always readily available for production. • Optimise your time and resources with Xperdyte’s interactive Production Scheduling Calendar.

  2. Pastel Integration As an Authorised 3rd Party Developer for Softline Pastel, Xperdyte seamlessly integrates into Pastel Accounting & ERP packages.

  3. Cost Groups Xperdyte achieves true marginal costing by classifying all costs as either Fixed or Variable cost types. All costs are also grouped into the following categories. Cost Groups MATERIALS LABOUR TIME MACHINE SET-UP TIME MACHINE TIME BUY-OUTS OTHER INTERNAL COSTS

  4. Bill of Material (BOM) Overview Xperdyte considers all factors when setting up BOM recipe’s to ensure accurate costing. In most cases, a BOM is usually a recipe to produce one finished goods unit, whereas Xperdyte allows you to enter the recipe for any number of units. In-depth BOM details • Detailed instruction’s for each Work Centre • Routing sequences for each Work Centre • Labour times for Machine Set-up • Material usage including yield losses • Labour Time at each Work Centre • Buy-outs for outsourced work • Other costs for recovery of internal costs

  5. Creating a BOM Process through the various Tabs, entering all the required input when using the specific BOM recipe to produce a finished good. This image illustrates the simplicity of creating a BOM in Xperdyte.

  6. BOM Costing – What If (Break Even) Adjust, analyse and make decisions with an instant and accurate Break Even Point Calculation.

  7. BOM Costing – What If (Expense Graph) Accurate costing with the ‘What If Function’ and Expense Type Comparison Graph

  8. BOM Costing Report Note the effect of fixed & variable cost allocation Note the very powerful ‘What If’ facility Note the yield losses at the raw material and finished goods level

  9. Opening up a Works Order Select a specific BOM code to be used, determine the priority of the job, decide upon the Quantity to Manufacture and adjust the Works Order Status accordingly. The various input details required for production is auto-filled as per the BOM selected to be used to produce the specific Works Order

  10. Works Order - Instructions Listing all the instructions, per work centre, to be executed to produce the specific finished goods as per the specific BOM being used.

  11. Works Order – Work Centres All the Work Centres involved in the production of the finished good as per the specific BOM being used.

  12. Works Order - Raw Materials The Works Order raw materials required to produce the goods as per the BOM being used.

  13. Works Order – Setup Time Xperdyte takes into account the setup time required to prepare the machinery needed for production.

  14. Works Order – Labour Time The Works Order then lists the labour time required to produce the finished goods as per the BOM being used.

  15. Works Order - Buyouts Buyouts refer to all costs incurred for any work which needs to be outsourced for the particular Works Order to be completed as per the BOM being used.

  16. Works Order – Other Costs Additional Costs of production as per the BOM.

  17. Works Order – Costing Summary Costing Summary of the Works Order.

  18. Works Order - Routing Sheets Xperdyte produces customisable‘Works Order Routing Sheets’ to be used on the production floor to assist in the completion of the Works Order. The Routing Sheets serve as a reporting tool, collecting data to be evaluated and entered into the system by management. The reports have separate sections per Work Centre with all the necessary input details required for each of them. The next 3 slides will illustrate a basic example of Works Order Routing Sheet.

  19. Works Order – Routing Sheet 1

  20. Works Order – Routing Sheet 2

  21. Works Order – Routing Sheet 3

  22. Works Order – Production Feedback A Feedback Entry is processed by entering the data collected during production, against the Works Order. Fill in the Actual Quantities used during production

  23. Works Order – Costing Graphs Once actual production feedback has been entered against the Works Order, performance can be evaluated with the ‘Standard versus Actual Graph Comparisons’.

  24. Production Scheduling The interactive Production Scheduling Calendar assists in achieving efficiency through the co-ordination of tasks and optimisation of time.

  25. Material Requirement Planning (MRP) • MRP is about the creation of demand for materials and the satisfaction of that demand by evaluating stock on hand and purchase orders. An MRP system is intended to simultaneously meet three objectives: • To ensure that materials are available for production and products are available forcustomers. • Maintain the lowest possible material and production levels in store. • Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules and purchasing activities. The process is as follows: • Sales back orders and or sales forecasting creates demand for Works Orders. • Works Orders satisfy the demand for sales. • Works Orders and safety stock levels also create demand for raw materials and sub-assemblies. • Works Orders for sub-assemblies satisfy demand for its parent part but create demand for further sub assembles and raw materials. • Raw material and sub-assembly stock on hand, plus, outstanding purchase orders and Works Orders satisfy demand for their parent parts Sounds complicated? It is! Now add the dimension of time to this. When is production to take place, how long will each Works Order take as well as the lead time from suppliers - and now it’s extremely complicated. But not with Xperdyte Manufacturing... this intuitive & easy to use software solution systematically simplifies the tedious task of Material Requirement Planning.
