TKHS Graduation Requirements • Students will need to earn 52 credits for graduation. • Students will earn 1 credit for each trimester class passed with a D- or higher. • TK High School graduation requirements for 2009 freshman students must include the following classes from the Michigan Merit Curriculum.

Computer Science I • This is an introductory course where students will learn to program in Visual BASIC.NET. Students who wish to continue their studies are encouraged to take Computer Science II upon completion of this course. • One Trimester • Prerequisite- Algebra with at least a B average • Davenport Credit Possible • Grade- 9, 10, 11,12
Computer Science II • This course continues developing skills initially presented in Computer Science I. Here, students will apply what they have already learned to programming Lego Mindstorm Robots. One Trimester • Prerequisite- Computer Science I • Grade- 9,10,11,12
Students work in teams designing and building robots. Students must write their own programs on the computer to send to the robot with an infrared transmitter.
Advanced Placement Computer Science • This course continues developing skills initially presented in Computer Science. Here, students will learn to program in the language of Java. This will be conducted in a manner designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Test. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Placement Test students have the opportunity to earn college credit. • Three Trimesters • Prerequisite- Computer Science or Permission of instructor • Grades- 10,11,12

Incoming 9th Graders: CLASS OF 2013 Algebra I or Geometry 2 Trimesters • It is important that each student is placed in the correct math class. If at any time you feel that your student is misplaced, please feel free to discuss this matter with his/her math teacher. Remember, eight trimesters of mathematics credit are required for graduation.

MATH LAB The purpose of the Math Lab is to offer additional support to students currently enrolled in a math class. Concepts that each student has not yet mastered will be identified, and an individualized instructional plan will be implemented based on that information. The Math Lab is an elective credit not a math credit.
