  2. Geography From China to the Mediterranean, the Silk Road was a series of trade routes upon which goods were relayed from one end to the other.

  5. Social Diffusion Buddhism appealed to the merchants and it spread in the trading cities of the Silk Road. With time and exposure, Buddhism also changed.

  6. Political Diffusion The Silk Road moved people and goods between empires. The safety of the route was important to it’s existence.

  7. Economic Diffusion The trade along the Silk Road built wealth in the towns which harbored the travelers. The spread of disease allowed a change in demand and supply of labor

  8. Conclusion The Silk road primarily expands and intensifies the communication and exchange networks within its influence through changes in religion and wealth.
