  2. Ankle joint And Foot

  3. ARTICULATION Is between the lower end of the tibia and the body of talus below……, In this picture we shows the ankle joint ……

  4. Ankle joint is a synovial hinge joint TYPE OF JOINT

  5. The capsule encloses the joint CAPSULE ;

  6. There is four type of ligament in ankle joint .Medial ligament .Lateral ligament .Anterior Talofibular Ligament . Calcaniofibular ligament

  7. Deep peroneal and Tibial nerves supply the joint Nerve Supply Of Ankle joint

  8. MOVEMENT OF ANKLE JOINT .Dorsiflexion Toes pointing upward .Planterflexion Toes pointing downward

  9. Muscles are invole in movement like in Dorsi flexion; Tibialis anterior , extensor hallucis longus , extensor digitorium longus , peroneus tertius muscle ………

  10. Planter flexion ; gastrocnemius , soleus plantaris , peroneus longus , peroneus brevis , Tibialis posterior , Flexor digitorum longus , Flexion hallucis longus ……

  11. IMPORTANT RELATIONS .Anteriorly ; anterior tibial vessels and the deep peroneal nerve. .Posteriorly ; Tendo calcaneus .Lateral ; Tendons of peroneus longus and brevis .medial ; Posterior Tibial vessels , Tibial nerve , long flexior Tendons of the foot….

  12. Foot The lower extremity of leg below the ankle , On which a person stand or walk ……. This is picture of foot ;

  13. It is the terminal portion of a limb which bears weight and allows locomotion. the foot is a separate organ at the terminal part of the leg made up of one or more segments or bones, generally including claws or nails.

  14. animals with feet, the foot is a separate organ at the terminal part of the leg made up of one or more segments or bones, generally including claws or nails.

  15. The foot can be subdivided into the • Hind foot • Mid foot • Fore foot

  16. The five irregular bones of the midfoot, the cuboid, navicular, and three cuneiform bones, The hind foot is composed of the talus or ankle bone and the calcaneus or heel bone

  17. forefoot is composed of five toes and the corresponding five proximal long bones forming the metatarsus

  18. bones of the toes are called phalanges and the big toe has two phalanges while the other four toes have three phalanges. The joints between the phalanges are called interphalangeal

  19. Between the metatarsus and phalanges are called metatarsophalange

  20. Muscles of the Leg that Move the Foot Muscle Action • Tibialis anterior Dorsiflexes foot • Extensor digitorumlongusDorsiflexes foot • FibularislongusPlantarflexes foot • Fibularisbrevis Plantar flexes foot • Gastrocnemius Plantar flexes foot • Soleus Plantar

  21. What is Movement • A particular manner of moving OR • The act or an instance of moving a change in place or position.

  22. Movement of ankle joint • A joint that is composed of three bones: the tibia, the fibula, and the talus. The ankle joint is responsible for the up-and-down motion of the foot. The subtalar joint is under the ankle joint, and it consists of the talus on top and calcaneus on the bottom. The subtalar joint is responsible for the side-to-side motion of the foot.

  23. Some picture shows movement

  24. Disease of Foot Fungal and bacterial condition /Dry skin • Corns and calluses • Warts Bunions • Ingrown toe nails

  25. What causes of foot disease? • Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is caused by a virus called an enterovirus. • The virus spreads easily through coughing and sneezing. You can also get it by coming in contact with infected stool…..

  26. It usually takes 3 to 6 days for a person to get symptoms of hand-foot-and-mouth disease after being exposed to the virus. This is called the incubation period.

  27. What are the symptoms? • At first your child may feel tired, get a sore throat, or have a fever of around 101°F… • Then in a day or two, your child may get sores… • In some cases a child will get a skin rash before the blisters appear.

  28. How is foot disease diagnosed? • Offer your child plenty of cool fluids. • Cold foods such as flavored ice pops and ice cream also may help. • Do not give your child acidic or spicy foods and drinks, • or pain and fever, give your child acetaminophen , ibuprofen.
