  1. Main Participants: Bobby Scurlock, Darin Acosta, Rick Cavanaugh Benchmark point LM-1 SUSY scale ~ 600 GeV Rich in staus taus Leptons + Jets + MET L1/HLT lepton trigger path Physics-TDR Full Analysis for JetMET Estimate discovery potential Provide detailed study of systematics Main SM backgrounds QCD, ttbar, W/Z+jets Inclusive mSUGRA Analysis at UF M0 [GeV]  LM-1 M1/2 [GeV] Total SM Bkg LM-1 Signal Events L = 10 fb-1 HLT Applied MET [GeV]

  3. Experience doing Analysis in the US • Access to CMS MC Datasets much improved over the last year • All work accomplished solely on US Computing Facilities • Tier-1 and Tier2 • FNAL Tier-1 CMS User Analysis Facility • Excellent access to both interactive logins and batch queues • helps to avoid the overhead of immature “Grid” tools • Primarily used for JetMET Datasets • QCD, ttbar, W+jets, Z+jets, WW/ZZ/ZW+jets, etc • In the past, UAF data access sometimes difficult or batch system overloaded • More resources, better data handling  much better access now! • UF Tier-2 • Significant effort to • locate important datasets (mSUGRA, QCD, etc) at Florida • install and maintain CMS software in Florida • Ability to work at the UF Tier-2 has proven mission critical to meeting deadlines • Overall, support for analysis in the US has been adequate to good and is significantly improving with time
