This source is useful in telling that free trade has resulted in the rise of employment in China. Give evidence. Explain (L4)
However, this source is limited in telling us that free trade has brought about negative effects. In source A, it shows that labour is exploited. (Inference). Give evidence. Explain. (L5)
This source, though has its limitations, is reliable. This is because the source is a recognised magazine that aims to inform its readers of factual information so that they can understand the effects of globalization. In addition, this source is unbiased source and gives a balanced view because within it, it states the negative effects of free trade. Give evidence. Explain.
What if the source is unreliable? Assuming that the source is unreliable because it comes from a country that is bias This source, though is unreliable and thus is not useful, nonetheless helps us understand the propaganda the government undertakes to make the (audience) believe in (state the issue).
This source is reliable to show that Chinese workers are exploited because it shows that they are poorly paid. Give evidence. Explain. This is supported by source A that shows Chinese workers being abused as if treated as slaves, implying that they earn very little. (Has to be inferred, cannot use ‘exploited’). Give evidence. Explain
This is, however, contradicted by Source C that states that free trade has resulted in there being less poor people in China.(Has to be inferred). This implies that with free trade, there has been employment and so the workers are not exploited. Give evidence. Explain
Source E, however, is reliable. The source is from an internationally known magazine that aims to objectivelyinform its readers of the effects of free trade so that they have a balanced view. In addition, from what I have learnt, free trade has come under fire from anti-globalization groups which have accused corporations of exploiting workers, even children. Thus, this source is reliable.
