Features of CATIA • It allows to create 3D parts, from 2D images, sheetmetal, compounds, molded, forged or tooling parts of mechanical assemblies. • It also provides advanced technological platform to develop technical appearance & BIW. • It provides solution to shape design, styling, surfacing workflow and visualization to create, modify and validate complex innovative shapes from industrial design. • It supports multiple stages of product design whether started from scratch or from 2D sketches.
The Systems Engineering solution of CATIA provides unique platform which is open and extensible which is completely integrated with cross-discipline modeling, simulation, verification and business process support that are required for the development of complex ‘cyber-physical’ products. • The solution referrs to the requirements of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) users that are developing today’s smart products and systems. It consists of elements such as Requirements Engineering, Systems Architecture Modeling, Systems Behavior Modeling & Simulation, Configuration Management & Lifecycle Traceability, Automotive Embedded Systems Development (AUTOSAR Builder) and Industrial Automation Systems Development (ControlBuild).
The software uses open Modelica language in both CATIA Dynamic Behavior Modeling and Dymola, so that it is possible to model behavior of complex systems that span multiple engineering discipline very quickly and easily. • CATIA & Dymola are included with industry and domain specific Modelica libraries whch allow user to model and simulate a wide range of complex systems that ranges from automotive vehicle dynamics through to aircraft flight dynamics.
It also offers a solution to facilitate the design and manufacturing of routed systems including tubing, piping, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC). • Due to these powerful capabilities it is possible to 2D diagrams to be used to drive the interactive 3D routing and placing of system components, in the context of the digital mockup of the complete product or process plant, through to the delivery of manufacturing information including reports and piping isometric drawings.
