  4. This tornado went through downtown Tuscaloosa.

  5. This is an image taken from the tornado that went through Rainsville, Alabama on April 27, 2011.

  6. The tragedy that occurred on this day in April 27, 2011 took the lives of approximately 200 people in Alabama alone. The reason so many were killed was because there was massive power outages so no one could watch television or listen to the radio. If another tornado outbreak occurs, we hope that you will be prepared.

  7. Here are some tips for being weather aware: • Make sure you have a battery operated radio to listen to weather reports • If a tornado has been spotted in your area seek immediate shelter in the lowest level of your home or a storm shelter. • Do not stay in a mobile home or your vehicle, • Do not try to outrun a tornado.
