  6. T/TE 2 Thermostatic Expansion Valve The T/TE 2 will control and maintain the amount of refrigerant to be injected into the Evaporator. It does this by keeping the Superheat Constant where the sensor is mounted on the suction line (In a constant load scenario) T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 6

  7. T/TE 2 Body Types T 2, Internal Equalizing, two connections Inlet ¼” or 3/8” flare or solder Outlet ½” flare or solder TE 2, External Equalizing, three connections Inlet ¼” or 3/8” flare or solder Outlet ½” flare or solder Equalizing ¼” flare or solder T/TE 2, All Normal Refrigerants T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 7

  13. Function of the T/TE 2 • The TEV will try to keep a constant superheat at a constant load situation • If there is a change in load the TEV will open more at increasing load and open less at decreasing load, and again try to keep a constant superheat • The opening degree is decided by a balance between the opening force and the closing forces • Pressure in the Power element is the opening • force (Sensor temperature) • Pressure from the refrigerant is a closing force • Pressure from the spring is the other closing force T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 13

  27. WHEN ? Every time there is a refrigeration system there should be one TEV for each evaporator (If not another means of throttle device is used) T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 27

  28. HOW ? By mounting the TEVin the refrigeration circuit with any necessary adjustment T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 28

  29. Where ? Always at the inlet of the evaporator T-TE 2 Product Presentation - 2001.07.23, JBMpage 29
