What does a COTA do? Help their clients to Learn to do everyday things again
COTAswork in these Occupational Areas: • Activities of Daily Living-ADLs (eating, hygiene, dressing, bathroom) • Instrumental ADLs(cooking, finances, child care) • Education • Social Participation • Leisure • Play • Work
Who do COTAs work with? • A COTA works closely with an Occupational Therapist (OT) who is their supervisor • OTs will set the goals for the patient collaborating with the COTA then the COTA will design the treatments to meet those goals
