PROGRAM GOALS • Teach DoD/DoHS and Civilian airlift users • To plan, prepare, deploy, and redeploy by air quickly, efficiently, and safely with minimal Air Mobility Command assistance
OBJECTIVES OF THE AFFILIATON PROGRAM • To establish a liaison between airlift managers and the using agencies to optimize airlift planning and utilization. • Get the most out of each aircraft.
OBJECTIVES OF THE AFFILIATON PROGRAM cont. • To develop an understanding and appreciation of the complexities of air movement and unit activities necessary to prepare for that movement.
OBJECTIVES OF THE AFFILIATON PROGRAM cont. • To provide a closer relationship between the affiliated units to develop a mutual understanding of their respective mission capabilities and requirements. • To provide a joint training program to enhance planning and executing.

Equipment Preparation Course (EPC) • Two day course which covers • Pallet Build-up • Weigh and marking vehicle • Organizing a Load Team • Aircraft familiarization • Shoring requirements • Joint Inspections • Certify Haz-Mat for air shipment (documentation only) • Cleaning of equipment • Manifesting troops and equipment
Airlift Planners Course (APC). • Six day course which covers • Load Planning Principles • Center of Balance • Pyramid Loading • Aircraft Characteristics • C-5, C-17, C-130 • KC-10 • Building Load Plans using ICODES • Certifies graduates as Load Planners
STATIC LOAD TRAINING • Aircraft familiarization • Weigh & Balance Vehicles • Build Pallets • Develop Load Plans • Loading • Equipment Prep • Documentation • Tie down Vehicles Pallets Loading
Affiliation Conferences • Hosted by 452nd ALCF • Held every 2 years • Forum to address common issues and problems experienced by affiliates • Share important and current information regarding airlift
Successful Program Requirements • Affiliated units must be self-reliant (through training and deployment exercises) • Affiliated Units must have continued training and keep assigned personnel involved • Affiliated Units must develop a local program to identify and track the availability and proficiency of trained personnel • Affiliated Units must coordinate and request training with the 452nd ALCF.
