What am I looking for? • Does the culture celebrate on one day or many days?It is a two day celebration. • Is it a large party or a solemn gathering?Mostly a large party many people come. • Is there a dowry involved? They receive bread and salt, symbolizing health, prosperity, and long life • What kinds of traditional outfits do people wear? Traditional white dress for bride and tux for the groom.
What about food? • Is there a sumptuous feast or small foods that represent something? There is a lot of food. Like a feast. Such as a traditional wedding cake. And traditional Russian food. Also traditional wedding drinks. • Do the bride and groom exchange foods at the ceremony? No, they only exchange rings at the ceremony.
Where do the ceremonies take place? • The ceremonies usually take place in a church. • What is the weather like in the region/country? They have long cold winters. With brief summers. • Do you think that has bearing on why the tradition is the way it is? Yes, because Russia is cold for the most part. The traditions are short and sweet and mostly require to be inside.
Is there traditional music or dance? • Yes, there is. They include a lot of Russian music, dancing, and singing. Guests love to sing to traditional Russian songs. Which go to the sounds of bayan, accordion, or garmoshka.
Similarities in two or more countries? • Yes, it does. It is similar to the U.S, Canada and Europe. The bride wears a traditional white dress. The groom also wears a nice suit. Friends and family are also invited. They also marry at a young age 18-25. That means they have kids at a young age. For the most part it differs from other traditions.
