Faith is dependent on 3 modes of nature 1)Mode of Goodness: Worships Devatas 2)Mode of Passion: Worships Demons 3)Mode of Ignorance: Worships Ghosts&Spirits Those who undergo severe austerities and penances not recommended in the scriptures, performing them out of pride and ego, impelled by lust and attachment, who are foolish and torture the body and super soul are demons.
But Worshipping Krishna is transcendental Sattvam visuddham vasudeva sabditam
Food in Mode of Goodness • B.G.17.8 “ayuh sattva balarogya….” • Food that increases life span & Heart becomes purified • Gives strength, health, happiness and satisfaction • Such foods are juicy, fatty, wholesome, and pleasing to the heart Food in Mode of Ignorance Food in Mode of Passion • B.G.17.9 “katv-amla-lavanaty….” • Food that cause distress, misery and disease • Such foods are too bitter, too sour, salty, very hot, pungent, dry and burning • B.G.17.9 “yata yaman gata rasam……” • Food that are • Prepared more than 3 hrs before being eaten • Tasteless, decomposed & putrid • Consisting of remnants and untouchable
