The exclusive focus of the IAS strategy on UPSC and IAS Coaching allows them to design a cutting-edge curriculum specifically designed by their qualified and expert faculty that provides aspirants with a clearer individualized strategy and focused topics, based on the results of the SWOT analysis of aspirants. 10 PREPARATION TIPS FOR IAS BEGINNERS While the decision to stand for the UPSC civil services review can be easy, what follows is an overwhelming and humiliating experience. For a beginner the first months are spent just to understand what this exam is about and to understand the right path to follow to reach their goal. I can confidently say this because this is not just my story but that of every aspirant. When it comes to the IAS exams, the MEANS that you will adopt at the end will decide whether to reach the end CONCENTRATE ON THE SYLLABUS: One of the main reasons that students wander far and wide while studying for UPSC is that they don’t pay attention to the program. You don’t need too much knowledge or too deep knowledge. UPSC needs people who know something about everything and not specialists. If you stick to the program and understand exactly what they want, you will be able to limit your preparation to the things that matter. Moreover, each topic has dynamic elements, some more than others, so being clear about the program will also help you choose the right news and put a limit also on the preparation of your current relationships. In itself things can be very extensive, but once integrated with the program and the questions of the previous year, you will have no problem selecting the news you need to read THE PRACTICE OF BEING THE ASPIRIANTS WANTS: As an IAS official, planning should be your strength. Put that skill to the test immediately by designing a strategy to follow for the remaining year. Don’t rely on coaching institutes for this task, remember, you know yourself better. Plan your studies in a way that helps you optimize your results. This should be easy after understanding the program and structure of the exam. You can take inspiration from other topper but change their strategy for your personality. ZERO DOWN UPON SOURCES: There are tons of books and lots of reading material for this coveted exam. Therefore, finding the most reliable, authentic and complete source becomes rather a task. My suggestion here would be to make a summary reading of the books suggested by others and then choose the ones you find most appropriate. Do not buy books online

  2. IAS STRATEGY until you have examined them physically and you will feel that they will be useful in your preparation. Regardless of the additional books you refer to, there is no alternative to NCERTs. Always start your preparation from them and then move on. SAVE THE NOTES FOR LAST: Don’t start taking notes when you start a topic. Consult at least 1-2 sources in addition to NCERT, highlight important points as you read and then compile them into notes. I made the mistake of taking notes on my story simply by reading the old NCERT and the reference books of R.S Sharma, Bipin Chandra etc., and later discovered NCERT Tamil Nadu which contained a lot of relevant information. As a result, I had to start my notes again.Take the maximum time to take notes as this is what you will be referring to in the last few months of preparation. You will not have time to browse through all the books at this stage, so enter everything that is important in your notes. Also, create a separate section for curiosities at the end of your notes. Once you have finished taking notes, refer to the NCERT of all classes from 6th to 12th and note the minor things or things in special boxes in a bullet module for a quick review. To learn the art of taking notes from Himanshu, AIR 77, 2017 MAKE A REVISION AT HABIT: When you start studying, you will realize that even the simplest of topics has the widest information available. As you read more, you tend to forget the old. Therefore, it is advisable to first review the notes of the previous days before collecting new information on a topic. The daily review will take less time than the end of an entire topic and its subsequent reading. For example, I took notes from PIB and Hindu every day as part of my current business. The next day, before writing the new information, I would review yesterday’s notes and give a summary reading of all the notes before. This helped me keep more information. READING THE NEWSPAPER IS THE FIRST STEP: Subscribe to The Hindu / Indian Express and get the PIB app, the day you decide to appear for this exam. You can reserve different days for different topics, but the newspaper is and should be a daily fixed point until the interview stage. Reading the news and keeping up to date on current affairs is not only crucial with regards to the new trend of questions, but it also helps shape your personality. Being well read and having knowledge of a certain issue gives you an intrinsic confidence that is reflected in your behavior. Don’t just read the news, find the background, analyze it and even criticize. This habit will also help you write better answers on the net, regardless of the topic, in addition to getting good results in the interview REDUCE YOUR ONLINE AS A SOCIALIZATION ONLINE: The examination of civil services is not called the mother of all exams for no reason! Getting ready requires not only hard work and perseverance, but also altering your lifestyle. An important change to be made would be to limit the use of social media and social interactions with the world. You will need to make clear your priorities for the year of preparation of the prelim and for the next six months. Initially I thought I could balance the two, but soon I realized my madness! It’s hard to keep track of time once you’re on social media and you end up losing deadlines. You can devote some time to these things, but remember to respect this time limit For more info: https://www.iasstrategy.com/
