ECET 2310 Lecture Twenty-Three
Calculation of Noise Gain (Section 3.5) • To Calculate the Noise Gain • Disconnect all external sources and replace with their internal impedances • Treat the circuit as a noninverting amp circuit and calculate the gain from the noninverting terminal to the output. This resulting voltage gain is the noise gain.
Offset Voltages and Currents (Section 3.6) • There are two effects to be considered • Input Offset Voltage (from dc balance at the two inputs) • Input Bias Current (currents required for proper dc biasing of internal components)
Offset Voltages and Currents (Section 3.6) • Values of sources in model are: • Vio = Input Offset Voltage • Ib+ = Input Bias Current at noninverting terminal • Ib- = Input Bias Current at inverting terminal
Offset Example • For the circuit below, VIO = 1 mV, IB = 80 nA and IIO = 20 nA
How to Determine VIO, IB+ and IB- Experimentally • To determine VIO
