  2. What Is a Teacher Exchange? A teacher exchange is an easy and secure chance for a teacher and family to explore another culture

  4. You continue to be paid by your home jurisdiction

  6. Why Do an Exchange?

  7. It provides unparalleled opportunities for both professional and personal growth and adventure

  8. An exchange is usually a landmark in both your personal and professional life

  9. How Do I Arrange This?

  10. CEEF, the Canadian Education Exchange Foundation is the not for profit organization

  11. Designated by the Ministries of Education in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island , and New Brunswick to facilitate teacher exchanges

  13. Where Can I Go?

  14. Current destinations include ~United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales)

  15. ~ Denmark~ Switzerland~ Germany

  16. ~ All Australian states ~ United States (Colorado and Washington) ~ Other Canadian provinces

  17. Who Can Go?

  18. There are no restrictions in terms of age or family

  19. Families, singles, empty nesters – all are welcome

  20. Requirements?

  21. You should have five years experience, be flexible and have a great sense of humour and adventure!

  22. You must be approved by your principal and your district as an exemplary teacher

  23. When Do I Do This?

  24. Northern Hemisphere Destinations Applications should be submitted by Christmas preceding the September start

  25. Southern Hemisphere Destinations Applications should be submitted by the end of January, one year in advance

  26. Earlier is always better

  27. What is the Process?

  28. Applications are exchanged between CEEF and the foreign exchange authorities

  29. Through daily discussion, possible matches are identified by the exchange authorities

  30. At that time, CEEF will contact you

  31. To see if you are interested in exploring a particular potential match

  32. If all looks good, a formal proposal package is sent to your principal

  33. For school and district approval prior to your getting it for your consideration

  34. Then it is up to you!

  35. What is the Cost? Nominal application fee of $150 plus HST

  36. Final processing fee of $250 plus HST when a match is confirmed
