  25. GRAMÁTICA: Infinitives & “Me gusta” INFINITIVES are the most basic form of a verb in Spanish. When you look up a verb in the dictionary, it is in the INFINITIVE form. Infinitives end in either –AR, –ER or –IR

  26. GRAMÁTICA: Infinitives & “Me gusta” To say things you like to do, use the INFINITIVE form of the verb (ends AR, ER, or IR) EXAMPLE Me gusta bailar. I like to dance. A mí, me gusta mucho bailar. Me, I like to dance a lot. Me encanta nadar. I love to swim. “A mí” can be used to add extra emphasis.

To talk about something you really like to do, use Me gusta MUCHO + verb. Me gustamucho hablarporteléfono = I really like to talk on the phone. To talk about something you like to do MORE, use Me gustaMÁS + verb. Me gustahablarporteléfono. Pero (but), me gustamásver la tele. I like to talk on the phone. But, I like to watch TV more.

To talk about something you REALLY DON’T like to do, use No me gusta NADA + verb. No me gustanada bailar = I REALLY don’t like to dance. To talk about TWO things you don’t like to do, use No me gusta ___ NI ____. No me gustabailar, nicantar. = I don’t like to dance nor sing.
