  2. Warm Up #301. Copy the definitions and examples.2. Write a response to the prompt below. • Character traits- descriptive adjectives that tell us about a character’s personality. • For example: courageous, nervous, shy, etc. • Motivation: a reason for doing something or behaving in some way • Emma did all her chores on Thursday night even though she didn’t have to do them until Saturday. 3. Warm Up #31Name at least three of Mandy’s character traits. Some are said directly, others you have to infer. Mandy was a tall redhead with blue eyes who liked to climb mountains. When she was with her friends, she told funny stories. When someone needed help with a personal problem, she was there to offer her support. In 2006, she gave $50,000 to a charity that helped farmers in Africa receive livestock to improve their lives.

  4. Warm Up #32How does Jody’s character change during the narrative? Jody is the son of a poor farmer who wants a pet because his siblings are dead. He finds a fawn whose mother was killed. Flag, the fawn, and Jody play together and become very close. When the fawn grows up, she eats the family’s crops. Jody is told by his mother to kill Flag. Instead, Jody chases Flag away, but she keeps coming back, eating the crops, and wanting to be with Jody. To save the farm, his mother shoots and wounds Flag. Jody follows Flag into the woods and kills her to save her from her agony.
