Food for the poor! • The poor people ate a herb –flavoured soup called pottage. • If they had enough money they would be able to buy a chicken from the market . • Vegetables were considered the food for the poor • Poor Tudor people ate animals, such as: rabbits, pigeons , hens ,ducks etc • .
Food for the rich • Three- quarters of the rich people s diet was made up of meat. • Rich people ate bread from white wholemeal flour. • Rich people ate at least 3 big meals a day. • The early catholic rule was that they could not eat meat on Friday and often not a Wednesday.
