A Concept (or sub-concept) is: • An approximate description of the technology, working principlesandform of an idea, device, or process… • A description of how the device (or portions of the device—or process), might work so that what the customer needs and wants might besatisfied… • Usually defined (at first) by a sketch and a textual description… • A concept may be made up of a number of sub-concepts… Integrated Product and Process Design
